Shaun Brisley overjoyed with Trophy win at Wembley
Man of the match Shaun Brisley has spoken of his delight at Peterborough United's victory in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Final this afternoon at Wembley.
The defender scored his first goal for Posh as they overcame the loss of Joe Newell to a second half red card to defeat Chesterfield 3-1.
"It has been an unbelievable day and it is a great feeling," he said. "We set out at the start of the season to win this trophy and we have achieved our goal, but we need to use this as a stepping stone and make sure we come back to Wembley in the play-offs.
"The experience of winning at Wembley is something you can't describe. I haven't scored for the club before so to score here is fantastic. I am over the moon with the win. I don't really remember too much of the goal, I hit the floor once I had connected with the ball.
"I just got to my feet and went off running. I heard everyone screaming and I was delighted with the finish. In my eyes, I have had three goals disallowed this season, so I will swap all of them for the one I scored today."
